Improving Vent Safety and Vapour Control with integrated solutions for ASDA Forecourt, Farnworth.

At its Farnworth forecourt, ASDA partnered with Berrys Technologies to implement a dual safety upgrade combining enhanced ventilation control and vapour dispersion management. The project integrated Easy Riser and Vent Master, two of Berrys’ flagship systems, to deliver a streamlined, compliant, and easily maintainable solution for forecourt venting infrastructure.

The galvanised steel Vent Master stack provides structural integrity and optimal height for vapour dispersion, while the Easy Riser mechanism allows the entire vent assembly to be safely lowered to ground level in minutes. This is achieved through a ball-and-knuckle joint system that enables easy access to pressure-vacuum (PV) valves for routine inspection or in response to vapour-related concerns.

Together, the systems offer ASDA a high-performance solution for:

Controlling diesel and gasoline vapours across multiple tank types.

 Improving operational safety by eliminating working-at-height procedures.

Enabling rapid maintenance and response during abnormal vapour events.

In addition to the core venting equipment, Berrys Technologies also supplied and installed site-specific safety signage, including vent labels and no-smoking signs, to ensure full compliance with regulatory standards and improve awareness for customers and suppliers around the forecourt.

This project demonstrates Berrys ability to deliver holistic forecourt safety packages, combining advanced hardware with essential support elements to create safer, smarter, and more reliable fuel retail environments.
