BP Aviation: Eliminating Elevated Servicing with Tailored Easy Riser.

In a highly specialised project for the BP Aviation Test Centre, Berrys Technologies was engaged to deliver a custom vent access solution for large-scale, 46,000-litre underground petroleum tanks. The goal: provide safe, around-the-clock access to vent caps, eliminating the need for elevated servicing and ensuring consistent operational performance in an aviation environment.

While the Easy Riser system is widely used in retail forecourts, it has now been adapted for use in aviation infrastructure, where specifications, layouts, and compliance requirements differ significantly.

To meet these challenges, Berrys modified the Easy Riser’s collapsible design by adding a custom retrofit frame, enabling the risers to be mounted directly onto the tanks. This enabled maintenance personnel to lower the entire vent assembly to ground level, ensuring full inspection access without the need for ladders, platforms or elevated procedures.
