How MFG Strengthened Delivery Safety with Rapid Midas Deployment.
Elevating Cross-Contamination Protection with Midas Technology - (MFG Forecourt, Winterbourne Abbas)
Client
As the UK’s
largest independent forecourt operator, Motor Fuel Group (MFG), with
over 1,200 retail sites across brands such as BP, Shell, Texaco, Murco, and
Morrisons, set out to enhance delivery safety and misfuel prevention
across its extensive network. To meet this challenge, Berrys Technologies
deployed its advanced Mobile Midas system, offering rapid rollout and
unmatched reliability in fuel-type verification at the point of delivery.
The Mobile
Midas solution uses RFID calibration technology to prevent
cross-contamination during fuel drops. Each fill point was equipped with a passive, encoded, tamper-resistant RFID tag uniquely linked to its associated fuel type, tank number, and site location. When the Midas unit
connects, it reads the RFID signal and validates compatibility before fuel is transferred, ensuring fail-safe operation.
Over the
course of the project, Berry’s in-house engineering fleet travelled more than 4,000
miles across the UK, from Scotland to Cornwall, systematically installing
RFID tags at every fill position across selected MFG sites.
This nationwide deployment delivered immediate operational benefits:
Cross-contamination risk eliminated, ensuring product purity at every site.
Faster delivery verification, reducing tanker turnaround time.
Consistent calibration and tracking, improving traceability and compliance.
The success of
this rapid, multi-site rollout reaffirms Berrys Technologies position as
the UK leader in misfuel prevention innovation, providing fuel retailers
like MFG with scalable, intelligent infrastructure that protects both assets
and brand integrity.
