As part of its ongoing safety-driven infrastructure strategy, Shell Holland partnered with Berrys Technologies to upgrade venting systems at its forecourt facility near Rotterdam. The goal: to eliminate the operational risks associated with working at height during routine maintenance of pressure-vacuum (PV) valves.

Berrys supplied and installed five Easy Riser vent systems, designed to lower PV valves to a safe, accessible height, eliminating the need for ladders, platforms, or elevated work procedures. This innovative solution ensures compliance with Dutch safety regulations while delivering ease of maintenance and operational continuity.

To meet regional technical standards, both 2-inch and 3-inch riser sizes were deployed at the site. Berry's ability to adapt the Easy Riser system to local compliance and client-specific requirements highlights the company’s strength in engineering flexibility and forecourt customisation.

Key benefits of the installation include:

Elimination of working-at-height hazards, reducing accident risk

Improved access to PV valves, enabling safer and faster maintenance

Enhanced long-term performance of the venting system through reduced mechanical stress

This successful deployment reinforces Berrys Technologies commitment to safety innovation, supporting Shell’s operational goals while ensuring a compliant, future-proof forecourt infrastructure at the Moerdijk site.
