Solving Space Constraints with Bespoke Fuel Infrastructure Design.

Managing Space Constraints with Bespoke Infrastructure - (Tesco Forecourt, Shoreham)

To address critical space limitations at the Tesco Shoreham forecourt, Berrys Technologies was engaged to design and implement a custom fuel infrastructure solution to optimise the underground and above-ground layouts without compromising safety or efficiency.

The project involved the removal of legacy steel pipework, which was replaced by over 1.5 kilometres of PLX composite dual-contained pipe, a modern, corrosion-resistant alternative that enhances environmental safety. These pipelines were integrated with Berrys’ proprietary Retro chambers, specifically configured to accommodate 13 newly installed tank lids with minimal surface disruption.

Above ground, Berrys engineered a bespoke 7-point fill-and-vent system to service the entire network. The manifold supports both 4-inch and 3-inch CAM adapters, providing delivery flexibility while maintaining strict safety and pressure-control standards.

This solution exemplifies Berrys Technologies' expertise in tailoring systems for complex site constraints, delivering:

Maximised use of limited space with modular chamber and pipework configurations

Enhanced safety and environmental compliance through dual-contained pipeline infrastructure

Streamlined fuel delivery operations, adaptable to varying tanker specifications

By combining advanced materials with smart design principles, Berrys Technologies successfully transformed the Shoreham forecourt into a high-efficiency, regulation-compliant site; future-ready and built to last.
